“Systemize the predictable so you can humanize the exceptional”

The thought above is by Gino Wickman, a famous entrepreneur, passed on to me by my mentor, Ken. While the idea is originally meant to strengthen the process component of any organization, it is one that can be adapted at a very personal level helping you to achieve your goals and to lead a worthy life.

First, let’s analyze the sentence word by word!

Systemize means to make something that already exists into a fixed plan or a scheme.

Being predictable refers to everything that can be known or seen in advance. Humanize is a verb, with the very gray and broad meaning of ‘make something more human.’ But what is more human? When it is a company providing a service, this can mean a successful marketing campaign making the market understand what the product is about in general. At your individual level, humanize means you accepting and managing something with your personal values and biases. Exceptional is simply anything that is out of the ‘usual.

But what is this all about? In my experience, most of us struggle with making any kind of meaningful changes, not because we are weak or that the change is just too big for a bite, but because we lack effective systems. I will use a simple example to present you the idea.

Let’s say you wish to lose a few kilograms of fat so you can fit into those old clothes of yours and feel 5-10 years younger again. Facing the brutal facts, it is really not that complicated to lose fat – you only need to follow a few principles: prioritize protein, be in a calorie deficit, eat more quality meals, stay active, respect your sleep. All this information is available with a 15-second Google search, so where and why do we fall short so often? The secret lies in systemizing to the predictable.

There are a lot of things that are predictable in a weight-loss journey, so let’s only discuss a few of those examples:

  • Eating out will not allow you to efficiently manage your proteins and the quality of your meals. It makes sense to prepare your own meals.
  • It is likely that you have other responsibilities than cooking fresh. food. Looking at your work schedule and private duties, it makes a lot of sense to block some time for food preparation.
  • You need to stay active. Workouts are important, but having a fixed and planned schedule will work better than leaving it up to the day.

As you can see, there are many things you can predict and plan better, so when something goes wrong – this is the exceptional – you will have better management of your experience. Without planning your meals, it’s easy to mismanage the quality of your dishes; now, if you manage your meals well enough up to 80%, that other 20% leaves enough space for a friend’s dinner or a business lunch without the feeling and pressure of failure.

The people who are beating their goals and succeeding in the fields where you struggle are not the people with willpower or special skills. They have simply built better systems (behaviors), so they do not deviate from the journey at the first obstacle.

“I’m a member of diosit and I train with the general programm because I have no special goal but I want to be healthy and in a good shape for my age. The program is perfect for everybody with a busy life and a small timeframe, you can choose the workout that fits in the shedule of the day and it helps you to be more resilient and strong in your mind and body”

This gym is different; it feels like a community. Coaches are very friendly, truly care & know their stuff. They take the time to listen to you & then offer alternative workouts to accommodate health issues. Years of running have taken their toll on my body but the coach always finds alternative moves so that I can remain pain-free & continue running. To be recommended

I joined Diosfit a year ago as I wanted to work my strength in addition to my other sport activities. After having suffered from several herniated discs, I was looking for personal training adapted to my health issues.

In my coach Jonathan, I found the perfect partner for intelligent movement adapted to my needs. He is always open ears, checking on my daily health status before the training and looking for new re-education exercises in order to challenge me in the best way possible.

With a lot of ups and downs during that year, I can finally say that I feel the difference with a regular training and I don’t want to miss out on it any more

I’ve been with Diosfit for almost 3 years. I wanted to join a gym for the first time, and I was looking for a place that would align with my mindset: somewhere that has a holistic approach and looks at movement as the building block for a healthy lifestyle.

I’ve become much stronger, which was my main goal. I’ve also gradually minimized a lower back pain that had been with me for years. I’ve learnt to embrace the journey, with all its ups and downs, listening to my body, and knowing that it can do more than your mind tells you. And I’ve learnt to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Thankyou

As someone who has struggled with maintaining a consistent exercise routine in the past, signing up with Diosfit fitness coaching at the end of 2023 has been truly life-changing for me. Prior to joining, I would always start strong with a new workout plan, only to fizzle out after a few weeks. However, the personalized guidance, education and accountability provided by the Diosfit team has made all the difference.

My coaches took the time to understand my specific goals, fitness level, and schedule, and developed a plan that is perfectly tailored to my needs. The combination of challenging yet achievable workouts, along with regular check-ins and personalized feedback, has kept me motivated and on track.

I look forward to my sessions each week and have seen tremendous improvements in my strength, endurance, and overall well-being. I’m super happy to have found a fitness solution that is both effective and enjoyable. I would highly recommend Diosfit to anyone looking to prioritize their health and wellness.
